ICYMI: Here are the top five things that happened in the Big West last week….In Case You Missed It!

1. Titans Men’s Soccer On Hot Streak
The Titans continued their hot play on the pitch Saturday night as Alex Heilmann’s goal in the 14th minute proved to be the winner in Fullerton’s 1-0 road win over division foe UC Riverside at UC Riverside Soccer Stadium.  With the victory, CSUF (8-8-1, 4-3-1) has now won three-straight conference matches and trails CSUN by a single point for the South Division crown.  The Titans will matchup with the Matadors at Titan Stadium on Wednesday night in their final home match of the regular season.  Full Story

2. Two Players Ink Professional Contracts
Former UC Irvine men’s basketball player Mamadou N’Diaye (a 7-6, 300-pound center),  signed a contract with  the Detroit Pistons.   N’Diaye played summer league basketball this past July with the Golden State Warriors. Full Story

Also joining the professional ranks is Missy Taukeiaho, who signed a contract to play professional softball with the Texas Charge of National Pro Fastpitch.  Taukeiaho, a two-time All-American, signs a contract with the Charge after a brief stint with the USSSA Pride back in June of this year where she became the 16th former Titan to sign a professional contract to play softball.  Full Story

3. Season Previews: 2016-17 Men’s Basketball

The nine men’s basketball coaches talked to BigWest.org to preview the upcoming 2016-17 season.  Last week’s preview focused  on UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and Hawai’i.  Full Story

4. Edberg Snags Third Victory Of Fall Season

Senior Martina Edberg recorded her third victory in four tournaments this fall as she earned medalist honors at the Memphis Women’s Intercollegiate Tuesday hosted by the University of Memphis at the Ridgeway Country Club in Germantown, Tenn.  Edberg logged the seventh victory of her illustrious Titan career after posting a 2-under 211. She currently holds a 70.33 scoring average through four tournaments, the first Titans golfer to ever hold a scoring average under par through the fall portion of a season.  Full Story

5.  Former Volleyball Players Inducted Into The International Volleyball  Hall Of Fame

Long Beach State’s Misty May-Treanor and Danielle Scott-Arruda were inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame on Oct. 22 in Holyoke, Mass.  Full Story
