1. Nagel’s buzzer-beater lifts Aggies past Gaels
Junior Rachel Nagel floated home the game winner at the buzzer to cap an 18-point night, leading three teammates in double figures, and lifting host UC Davis to a thrilling, 68-66, win over Saint Mary’s on Sunday afternoon in front of a season-high 883 fans at The Pavilion.  Full Story

2. Five Players Earn AVCA All-Region Honors
The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released its 2016 AVCA All-Region Teams today and five Big West athletes were recognized. Hawai’i’s Nikki Taylor nabbed her second AVCA All-Pacific North Region Team, while her teammate Emily Maglio and Cal Poly’s Taylor Nelson earned All-Pacific North Region Honorable Mention honors. Long Beach State’s Nele Barber picked up an All-Pacific South Region accolade and UC Santa Barbara’s Lindsey Ruddins landed on the honorable mention list.  Full Story

3. Former LBSU Baseball Player Traded To Angels

The Angels have acquired infielder Danny Espinosa from the Nationals in exchange for Minor League right-handers Kyle McGowin and Austin Adams, the Halos announced Saturday night. Espinosa, who turns 30 in April, hit .209/.306/.378 with career highs in home runs (24) and RBIs (72) for Washington in 2016, playing shortstop the entire season. Full Story

4. Six Big West Players Named NSCAA All-Far West Region

The Big West placed six men’s soccer players on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Far West Region team.  Two players each from CSUN and UC Santa Barbara, as well as one apiece from Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside made the list.  The Far West Region is comprised of schools from the Big West, Pac-12 and West Coast conferences.  Full Story

5. UC Irvine Alum Evans, Sounders Win 2016 MLS Cup

The Seattle Sounders defeated Toronto FC in the MLS Cup on Saturday night in a match that was decided by penalty kicks after the teams failed to score a goal in 120 minutes of regulation and extra time.  Full Story
