ESPN3 Basketball Schedule
Big West Commissioner Dennis Farrell today announced that ESPN3 will feature a minimum of 32 men’s and women’s basketball games during the 2017-18 season.
The package will include a minimum of 17 men’s games and 10 women’s games. Five additional ESPN3 “Wild Card” matchups will not be determined until approximately 2-3 weeks in advance of the game date. The five Wild Card dates are January 20, February 3, February 8, February 10 and February 21.
All games will be produced through the Big West’s mobile production facility, beginning on Wednesday, January 3 with a men’s basketball battle between UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton inside Titan Gym. Hawai‘i and Long Beach State face off in another men’s hoops showdown on Thursday, January 4 at Walter Pyramid.
The women’s basketball portion of the package commences on Wednesday, January 10 when defending Big West Tournament champion Long Beach State visits Cal State Fullerton. Both programs are led by first-year head coaches in Jeff Cammon and Jeff Harada.
Defending men’s tournament champion UC Davis makes its first appearance on Thursday, January 11 at UC Riverside. The reigning men’s regular champion, UC Irvine, hosts Cal Poly on Thursday, January 18.
Six women’s tournament games will finalize the ESPN3 coverage of Big West basketball this season. Two first round (March 6) and two quarterfinal (March 7) games will be showcased at Titan Gym, followed by the Friday, March 9 semifinals at Honda Center.
ESPN3 is ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually. It is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected streaming devices through the ESPN app. The network is currently available nationwide at no additional cost who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider. It is also available at no cost to U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers, smartphones and tablets connected to on-campus educational and on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks.
The 2017-18 season begins on Friday, Nov. 10.
