1. CP Men, UCSB Women Claim 2017 Cross Country Championships

A repeat champion and a return to glory were the stories in Riverside Saturday as the Cal Poly men and the UC Santa Barbara women won the 2017 Big West Cross Country titles. The Mustangs won their second straight title and fifth in seven seasons. Meanwhile on the women’s side, the Gauchos’ 45 points delivered the first title for the program since 2010. Full Story

2. Anteaters Triumph to Take Big West Women’s Soccer Regular Season Title

UC Irvine women’s soccer punched a ticket to the Big West Tournament in emphatic fashion besting Cal State Fullerton, 1-0, Sunday at Anteater Stadium to win the outright Big West regular season title.  Full Story


3. UC Davis and Cal State Fullerton Claim No. 1 Seeds In Big West Men’s Soccer Tournament

Cal State Fullerton fell to UC Irvine 2-1 Saturday night at Titan Stadium, however, the Titans locked up the No. 1 seed in the South Division and co-South Division Champions. UC Riverside earned a 2-1 victory over CSUN Saturday night to leave both the Titans and Matadors finishing the season with 14 points. Because Fullerton secured a 1-0 win over CSUN on Wednesday it holds the tiebreaker to give it the No. 1 seed in the Big West Tournament and a first round bye. Full Story

An own goal via a Cal Poly defender with just over six minutes remaining in regulation broke a 1-all deadlock and lifted visiting UC Davis to a, 2-1, win over the host Mustangs, clinching the Big West Conference North Division title for the Aggies on Wednesday night at Alex G. Spanos Stadium. Full Story


4. Cal Poly Downs Top Teams To Maintain Perfect Conference Record

Cal Poly entered last week with a perfect 9-0 mark but had the tough task ahead of facing both second place Hawai’i and third place UC Irvine.  The Mustangs proved successful  and swept the Anteaters and downed the Rainbow Wahine in a five-set thriller to remain perfect in league action.  Full Story


5. Big West Announces Preseason Basketball Polls

Postseason qualifier and 20-game winner for five straight seasons, UC Irvine is the media’s preseason pick to capture the 2017-18 Big West men’s basketball championship. Full Story

Coming off a 25-win campaign and with the bulk of its lineup intact, UC Davis was named the preseason favorite by the coaches and media for the 2017-18 Big West women’s basketball title.  Full Story
