Madden, Boyal Complete Seasons At NCAA Championships

Thomas Madden (UCD) finished 72nd overall, while Swarnjit Boyal (CP) closed 211th at the 2017 #ncaaXC Championships.

The senior duo of Thomas Madden of UC Davis and Swarnjit Boyal of Cal Poly completed their season early Saturday at the NCAA Cross Country Championship in Louisville, Ken.

Faced with cool temperatures and the threat of inclement weather later in the day, the start times of the meet at Tom Sawyer Park were moved up an hour forcing the men to start at 10 a.m. ET.

Madden was the higher finisher of the two, finishing 72nd overall in 30:27.5 over the 10K course. Boyal wrapped up the race in 211th, crossing the finish in 31:48.7.

Northern Arizona won the men's overall title, finishing with 74 points to easily outpace runner-up Portland (127). Syracuse's Justyn Knight won the individual title in 29:00.1, barely outpacing NAU's Matthew Baxter who finished in 29:00.8.
