UC Santa Barbara graduate forward Leland King II averaged a double-double of 23.0 points and 11.5 rebounds in wins over Hawai‘i and CSUN.
➜ Leland King II earned his first career Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honor after averaging a double-double in home wins over Hawai‘i and CSUN.
➜ The 6-7 forward shot 59.4% (19-of-32) from the field, made two of his four three-point attempts and connected on 6-of-9 from the charity stripe over the two games. He averaged 23.0 points and 11.5 rebounds to help UCSB improve to 18-5 on the year.
➜ King II posted his 11th double-double of the year in the CSUN victory, finishing with a career-high tying 25 points and a career-best 17 rebounds.
➜ He scored nine of his 25 points in a decisive 19-1 second-half run against CSUN in the 75-51 win. He made 10-of-18 floor shots.
➜ In UCSB’s thrilling 84-82 overtime victory over UH, King II contributed 21 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals. He shot 9-of-14 from the floor, hitting his only three-point attempt, and collected six of his points in the overtime period.
➜ UCSB remained in a tie for first place in the Big West at 7-2 with UC Davis.
➜ King II recorded his eighth and ninth games with 20 points or more. He ranks fifth in the Big West in scoring (16.2 ppg) and first in rebounding (10.6 rpg).
