Leaupepe Dominates In Pair Of Victories

Senior • Guard • Camarillo, Calif. • Camarillo HS

Cal Poly senior Dynn Leaupepe (Camarillo, Calif./Camarillo HS) earned her third Big West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week accolade this season – and the fourth of her career – as she continued her scoring barrage in conference play.

➜ Leaupepe averaged 28.5 points to lead the Mustangs to wins over Hawai‘i (52-50) and UC Riverside (91-73).  She dropped 26 points on the Rainbow Wahine and 31 on the Highlanders.

➜ Leaupepe has scored 20 points or more in nine of the last 10 games, including three games with 30 or more in that span.

➜ She scored exactly half of Cal Poly’s points in the UH victory.  She finished 13-of-26 from the field to go along with seven boards, a season-high tying six steals and two blocked shots in 34 minutes.

➜ Leaupepe returned for her fifth 30-point effort of the season in the UCR contest.  She was 12-of-17 from the field and 6-of-8 from the foul line.  She chipped in a rebound, three assists, five steals and a block.

➜ Her 11 steals on the week gives her 51 for the season, and puts her in first place in the Big West.

➜ She also moved past Megan Harrison (2005-09) for No. 4 in school history in career scoring, improving her total to 1,466 points.

Others nominated: Hannah Thompson (Cal State Fullerton); Channon Fluker (CSUN); Cecily Wilson (Long Beach State); Morgan Bertsch (UC Davis), Morgan Green (UC Irvine); Sarah Toeaina (Hawai‘i)
