BIG WEST AT A GLANCE

CONFERENCE TITLE IMPLICATIONS

As we head into the final week of the regular season, the conference title is still up for grabs.  Cal State Fullerton looks for its third straight Big West crown as Long Beach State looks for its first since 2014.  The Titans host UC Riverside as Long Beach State concludes its 2018 regular season campaign at CSUN.  Both will play a three game series with the final contests happening on Saturday.  CSF is 21-14 at home overall and 8-1 at home in league.  The Beach is 10-3 on the road this season and 3-6 away from home in conference play.  The Titans need just a single victory to earn at least a share of the title.

THREE-PEAT?
Cal State Fullerton looks for its third-straight regular season title this weekend. The last team to accomplish the feat was CSF when it won four-straight from 2000-03.  The most regular season crowns won in succession was from 1988-1992 when Fresno State clinched five consecutive titles.

LONG BEACH STATE REMAINS IN TOP-20
For the seventh-straight week, Long Beach State has appeared in the top-20 in the national polls and has appeared in the top-25 for 11-straight weeks.  The Beach also received votes a week prior to that.  The Beach is currently 18 in the RPI.

BEACH HITS 40-WIN MARK
After going 2-1 in Davis last week, Long Beach State recorded 40 wins for the ninth time in program history.  It is the first time the Beach reached the milestone since 2008.

RIVERSIDE ROLLS TO PERFECT WEEKEND
UC Riverside recorded its first series sweep in league at home versus UC Santa Barbara last weekend after defeating the Gauchos 9-3, 13-11 and 14-0.  The Highlanders moved to 9-9 in league as its heads into its final week of the regular season.  UCR sits in third place in the Big West standings and looks for its highest finish in league in school history.  The highest the Highlanders have ever finished is in fifth place (multiple seasons).

FRESHMAN FLOURISHES
Freshman pitcher Brooke Yanez earned her third Big West Pitcher of the Week honors, making her the first rookie since 2015 to earn three weekly awards as a freshman.  Zoe Conley last received three nods for CSUN in 2015.  The freshman has helped the Aggies to a 25-23 overall mark and a 7-11 record in league.
