No. 41-ranked Palina Dubavets and Natalie Da Silveira make their NCAA Women's Doubles Championship debut today against No. 21 Clemson duo Marie Leduc and Fernanda Navarro at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The match takes place at 11:00 a.m. (PT). The winner of that first round contest will take on (5-8) Ellyse Hamlin/Kaitlyn McCarthy of Duke or Mayar Sherif Ahmed/Luisa Stefani of Pepperdine in second round action on Friday.
Dubavets is making her third straight trip to the national doubles tournament – all with a different partner. She played with Stefani Stojic in 2016 and Melissa Baker in 2017.
Playing with Da Silveira in 2018, the two sport a 15-6 dual match record and have won eight consecutive matches entering the NCAA’s.
Dubavets and Stojic snapped a 21-year Big West drought in the doubles tournament when they knocked off DePaul’s Rebeca Mitrea and Yulia Shupenia, 6-1, 6-2 in the first round in 2016. They nearly upset the top seeded team from North Carolina in the second round.
