UC Santa Barbara Duo, Moreno de Alboran Eliminated From Tennis Championships

UC Santa Barbara dropped a pair of contests at the NCAA Tennis Championships on Thursday as the duo of Palina Dubavets and Natalie Da Silveira lost their first round doubles match and Nicolas Moreno de Alboran came up just short in his second round singles contest.

Moreno de Alboran Eliminated From NCAA Championships After Hard Fought Loss To No. 1 Redlicki

One day after defeating No. 43 Alexis Galarneau of North Carolina State, UC Santa Barbara's own Nicolas Moreno de Alboran turned his attention to the No. 1 player in the country as he faced Martin Redlicki of UCLA in the second round of action. The junior battled the top seed as tough as he could and certainly had his chances throughout the match, but ultimately Moreno de Alboran would lose, 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 eliminating him from the tournament.

Dubavets, Da Silveira Fall To Clemson Pair In Doubles Tournament

UC Santa Barbara duo Palina Dubavets and Natalie Da Silveira posted a 6-3, 6-1 loss to Clemson's Marie Leduc and Fernanda Navarro in the first round of the NCAA Women's Doubles Championships at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The Gaucho tandem had their eight-match winning streak stopped as they finished their season with an 18-8 record.  Dubavets and Da Silveira entered the contest ranked No. 41 in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.
