Strom-Okimoto, DeWeese Earn Women's Soccer Honors

RAISA STROM-OKIMOTO, HAWAI‘I – OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior • MF • Aiea, O’ahu • Aiea HS

• Raisa Strom-Okimoto notched her first career hat trick to lead the Hawai‘i senior to her second selection as Offensive Player of the Week this season.

• The midfielder became the sixth player in UH history to record a hat trick.

• Strom-Okimoto scored in the 5th, 39th and 51st minutes to put the game out of reach as the Rainbow Wahine finished with a 4-0 shutout of Cal Poly.

• The three goals upped Strom-Okimoto’s season total to 11, allowing her to take over the Big West lead.  Six of those 11 scores have come against conference opponents.

• She became the first Rainbow Wahine to tally double-digit goals in a season since Tiana Fujimoto in 2013.  Strom-Okimoto is now No. 6 all-time at UH with 21 career goals.

• Strom-Okimoto took seven shots for the week (five on goal), including three attempts in a 1-0 loss at UC Santa Barbara on Sunday.

HANNA DeWEESE, UC SANTA BARBARA – DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• Earning her first career Defensive Player of the Week award, UC Santa Barbara junior Hanna DeWeese allowed just one goal in a pair of crucial wins with Big West Tournament implications.

• DeWeese helped the Gauchos pick up six important points in the conference standings.  UCSB is currently in third place with 12 points.  The top four squads advance to the Big West Tournament.

• The goalkeeper made six saves – three in each victory – as the Gauchos knocked off Cal State Fullerton (2-1) and Hawai‘i (1-0).

• DeWeese recorded a 0.50 goals against average with an .857 save percentage.  She notched her fourth shutout of the season in the UH win.
