Schneidmiller Honored For Third Straight Week

JOEL SCHNEIDMILLER, UC IRVINE • MEN'S VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sophomore • Outside Hitter • Saratoga, Calif. • Saratoga HS

• Joel Schneidmiller racked up his third Big West Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week award in as many weeks leading his team offensively in a road split against No. 9 Stanford.

• The 6-foot-6 outside hitter averaged 3.88 kills, 1.50 digs, 0.88 blocks and 0.63 aces over eight sets. 

• Schneidmiller hit .247 with 31 kills in the two matches.

• He had a team-high 18 kills in the first meeting with the Cardinal, a four-set loss.  He added four digs, three block assists and an ace.

• In the rematch, Schneidmiller recorded 13 kills on .290 hitting (13-4-31) while chipping in four aces, eight digs and four block assists.

Senior • Outside Hitter • Huntington Beach, Calif. • Huntington Beach HS

• TJ DeFalco of Long Beach State led his team on both sides of the ball against No. 6 UCLA as he claimed Big West Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week accolades.

• DeFalco had a team-leading five blocks in the 3-0 sweep of the Bruins at Pauley Pavilion – the rematch of the 2018 national championship match.  He added three digs.

• Offensively, DeFalco led LBSU with 13 kills on .500 (13-2-22) hitting.  He also served up one ace.

• DeFalco’s defensive effort helped limit the Bruins to a .210 attack percentage.

TAYLOR ITTNER, CSUN • MEN'S VOLLEYBALL FRESHMAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Setter • Meadow Vista, Calif. • Placer HS

• Taylor Ittner notched his second straight Big West Men’s Volleyball Freshman Player of the Week honor after helping CSUN split a pair of matches on a midwest roadtrip.

• Ittner compiled 96 assists over 10 sets (9.60 aps) as the Matadors won in five sets over No. 13 Purdue Fort Wayne and lost in five sets to No. 14 Ball State.

• He had 49 assists, one ace, six digs and three blocks in the win over the Mastodons.

• Against the Cardinals, Ittner tallied 47 assists, five digs and a block assist.
