Big West Releases 2017-18 ESPN Men's Basketball Schedule


A minimum of 17 #BigWest contests will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks during the 2017-18 season.

2017-18 ESPN Men's Basketball Schedule

Big West Conference Commissioner Dennis Farrell today announced that ESPN networks will televise a minimum of 17 men’s basketball games during the 2017-18 season.   
ESPN2 and ESPNU will air five regular season Big West contests, applying a “Wild Card” format to determine pairings 2-4 weeks before the game.  The four ESPNU games will be played on Jan. 6, Jan. 20, Feb. 3 and Mar. 1, while ESPN2 will feature a Feb. 24 matchup.
Various ESPN platforms will carry the Big West Tournament semifinals and championship at Honda Center.  The Friday, Mar. 9 semifinals will appear on ESPN3 and ESPNU.  The 6:30 p.m. game will be shown live on ESPN3 and delayed at 11:00 p.m. on ESPNU, while the 9:00 p.m. game will be live on ESPNU.  ESPN2 will bring the Saturday, Mar. 10 championship game with tip time at 9:00 p.m. (PT).
Nine additional non-conference contests will appear on an ESPN channel.  All games will be available on the ESPN app.
Cal State Fullerton, Long Beach State and Hawai‘i will compete in three ESPN Events’ owned-and-operated eight-team tournaments to make up the nine games.  The Titans (Wooden Legacy), Beach (Advocare Invitational) and Rainbow Warriors (Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic) will all participate in three games over a four-day span on one of the following platforms – ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN3 or ESPNEWS.       
The 2017-18 season begins on Friday, Nov. 10.
