Hitchcock Selected As Candidate For Senior CLASS Award



Senior standout Brittany Hitchcock of Hawai'i was selected as a candidate for the 2018 Senior CLASS Award in
Division I collegiate softball as announced, Thursday.

Selected from a nationwide pool for the distinction, Hitchcock is among 30 women who excel in the areas of community, classroom, character and competition. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the award honors the student-athlete who most embodies the four characteristics.

An All-Big West honoree as a junior, Hitchcock leads the Rainbow Wahine with a 1.97 ERA in 53.1 innings of work.  The senior is 5-4 on the year with 42 strikeouts.  As a junior, Hitchcock posted several career-bests including a 1.85 ERA with a 19-12 overall record in 35 appearances and 169 strikeouts in 204.2 innings pitched.  With 27 complete games under her belt, the senior threw eight shutouts in 35 appearances.
